U-bike and MAYBE I-bike

Seems i might have been misinformed (see U-bike but not I-bike)

According to the Taipei Times:

Starting on May 1, the fee will be NT$40 for the first 30 minutes and NT$10 for every additional 15 minutes, the department said.Users can pay with their EasyCard or a credit card, which includes a NT$3,000 deposit. The deposit will be forfeited if the bike is not returned within 24 hours.

So the good news is that perhaps credit cards are not necessary.
And the bad news is the price is going up exponentially. It is NOT a free bike service, in fact at NT$60 for the first hour, it is more expensive than most of the private bike hire shops in the area.

Next time I'm in Xinyi District [2011?] I'll go and check it out and post an update.
